Horses Arrive In New York
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK. After an air trip of 10,239 miles, 20 Australian and New Zealand horses arrived at New York’s Newark Airport yesterday afternoon. The airlift is believed to be the largest in racing history. The horses include the New Zealand pacer, Orbiter, which will run in the 200,000-dollar international pacing series beginning at Yonkers Raceway on April 14. The aircraft started its long trip in Sydney, then loaded 17 horses in Christchurch and continued to New York via Fiji, Honolulu, and San Francisco.
