Amuri Show Entries
The number of entries in this vear's Amun Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s shew may be a record. With entries for the flower and schools sections still to come in, entries this rear are fewer than 100 below’ the 1955 record total of 2870. _ , Excluding flower and school entries. 2777 entries have been received so far for this year’s show, compared with 1545 last rear an increase of 1227. However a further 1120 entries in the jowers and schools sections raised the total number of entries last year to 2665. If similar entries are received for these two sections this year, there will be a record number of entries. Entries in the sheep section this year are more than double the figures for the same section in the 1965 show. Entries received in the photography and art section have also doubled, as have entries in the seeds, needlework, and dogs sections. All sections show great increases over last year in the number of entries. Entries, with those for last year in parenthesis, are: Horses 571 (484), sheep 925 <452), wool 34 (21), dogs 38 (19), dog trials 30 (0). cattle 20) (0). seeds 91 (45). cookery 141 (82). home industries 115 (72), needlework 176 (80), photography and art 276 (107). woodwork 53 <C). vegetables 260 (153), fruit and potatoes 62 (30). Totals, 2772 (1545).
