Friendship Favoured

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. N.A.C. was considering replacing its DC3s with more Friendships if the grass airfields it served were sealed, the corporation’s deputy general manager, Mr L. L. Ford, said today. The prop-jet Friendships are not permitted to operate from the 11 grass fields on the airline’s secondary routes. Two of the fields, New Plymouth and Tauranga, will be sealed next year. “Operational restrictions will be against the DC3s at the end of this year.” Mr Ford said. They would be phased out in the next three to five years.
