Chelsea Continues Its Winning Cup Run
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON. Chelae* stole the honours in a shock-packed fourth round of the English F.A. Cup on Saturday when it beat last season’s losing finalist. Leeds United. Chelsea had disposed of the cup holder, Liverpool, in the third round. But in the most exciting tie of the round Tottenham Hotspur recovered from being two goals down in four minutes to beat Burney, 4.3, the winning goal coming two minutes from time. It was also a great day for the little clubs. Southport, of the fourth division, eliminated the second division club, Cardiff City, and Hull, in the third division, beat its first division opponent, Nottingham Forest. The greatest feat of the round, however, belonged to Rotherham United, which drew 0-0 away to Manchester United, the cup favourite and the reigning English League champion. Wolverhampton Wanderers regained some of their glitter with a decisive 3-0 victory over Sheffield United, while Bedford Town, the only non-league team left in the competition, was beaten, 3-0, at home by Everton. West Ham United, the European Cup Winner's Cup holder, struggled to draw, 3-3, with Blackburn Rovers.
