England Six, Ireland Six

(N.Z.P.A. Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, February 12. England and Ireland drew, 6-6, in their international Rugby match at Twickenham today. England led, 6-3, at half-time.

Each side scored one try and one penalty goal. It was the first time they had drawn since 1925. J. R. H. Greenwood, one of the four new caps, scored England’s try. D. Rutherford kicked the penalty. For Ireland T. Kiernan landed a penalty goal and J. C. McGrath scored the try. The weather was dull and the ground soft. Ireland kicked off and was offered its first chance when England was penalised for offside. Kiernan missed the kick. An English penalty at halfway led to Greenwood’s try after 16 minutes. Rutherford missed the conversion. Ireland swept into the attack. Greenwood was caught off-side and Kiernan kicked the goal from 45 yards out. A minute later Ireland was penalised in a scrum 40 yards out and Rutherford sent England three points ahead. Ireland kept play in the English half for most of the second spell. Gibson tried a

dropped goal, but the team did not score for 23 minutes. Gibson kicked ahead and McGrath, following up, booted the ball over the line and beat Rutherford for the touch-down. Gibson missed the conversion.
