Retailers Approve
f.N’.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. February 13. Retailers would be happy to allow manufacturers to set the retail price of television sets, the president of the Radio-Television and Electrical Retailers’ Association (Mr N. T. Bennett) said. His association approved of the Trade Practices and Prices Commission’s decision that television trade arrangements should revert to the system operating for other domestic appliances before the introduction of television. He said the change would ensure that every customer would receive a fair deal as, with sets prices, retailers would not be able to offer “cuts” in prices to the disadvantage of people who were required to pay full price.
