Crete Invasion Anniversary
Several Canterbury men who took part in the Battle of Crete met on Friday evening and decided to mart the twenty-fifth anniversary on May 20 this year with a service at Christchurch Cathedral, a wreath-laying ceremony, a dinner, and other special functions. A committee, which will probably be known as the Canterbury Crete Campaigners, was elected as follows: President, Brigadier J. T. Burrows; vice-president. Brigadier T. C. Campbell; secretary, Mr J. W. Jordan; treasurer, Mr L J. Wilson; committee, Messrs J. R. H. Hefford, A. F. G. McGregor, C. C. Miller, R. Tolley, G. Thompson, C. R. Barron, R. W. Morris, and T. J. KirtBumnand.
