Film Star Has Operation

The film star, Mr Jack Hawkins, who has been in hospital for an operation for cancer of the throat, is expected to leave hospital for home today, the “Daily Mail” reported. He has been learning to speak again since his vocal cords were removed in the operation. He said 12 words yesterday, his best performance since the operation more than two weeks ago. His breath control, learned as an actor, is helping him to find a new voice.
