Takaka Man

To Study

Mr D. J. Nees, of Takaka. has been awarded one of the six Bank of New Zealand scholarships to attend a short course at Massey University. He was selected by the Canterbury council of the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, which met recently at Christchurch. He plans to take a course in dairy farm management. Mr Nees has been a member of the Takaka Young Farmers’ Club for the last two years and is the secretary. He is also on the Young Farmers’ Club district committee, holding the positions of pig council delegate and farm safety officer. He is also active in local community projects. Mr Nees was educated at Nelson College and is now employed on his father’s 100acre dairy farm at Takaka.
