LINE TO BE IMPROVED

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. The Paerata-to-Waiuku railway branch line will be closed from March 1 to March 31 for extensive earthworks for its upgrading. After the earthworks have been completed the department wlifl start relaying the present 551>b track with 911 b track. The total cost of the reconstruction and the laying of the new track is expected to be £500,000. The department plans to have rail access to the steel mill by June, 1967.
