GARDENING PRIZES
Horticultural Society Mr F. E. Rooney, of 162 Condell avenue, won the New Zealand Institute of Architects’ Challenge Cup in the design, harmony, and arrangement class th the special section of the annual garden competitions organised by the Canterbury Horticultural Society. Mr Rooney also won the R. T. Tosswill Memorial Trophy for most points in any section. He entered the novice section. Results were: Design, harmony and arrange ment (New Zealand Institute oi Architects’ Cup).—F. E. Rooney 162 CondeH avenue. Cultivation and maintenance (L. T. K. Allison Memorial Trophy).—L. F. Indoor ferns (T. Smart Challenge Cup).—C. Crouch, 549 Ferry road. Aquarium and Pond Society Challenge Cup.—C. Crouch, 549 Ferty road. District Awards Riccarton, Merivale, Fendal ton, and west of Papanui road. —F. E. Rooney, 162 Condell avenue. St. Albans, Papanui east of Papanui road. —R. P. Clark, 49 Dunedin street.
