VICTORIAN HOTELS

1 First Week Of 10 p.m. Closing | (N.Z. Press Assn.—CopiiriQht) MELBOURNE. Feb. 7. Victoria's first week of 10 p.m. closing had turned out better than he hoped, the Chief Secretary Mr A. G. Rylah. said today. He believed legislation making it an offence to drive with a blood alcohol content higher than .05 per cent had played a big part. “The big problem with drinking and driving is to make people think about the consequences of driving when they have had too much to drink. “This is what the .05 per cent legislation was meant to do, and I think it has helped to keep the road toll down.”
