CONFERENCE DELEGATES
Complaint By Mr Denton All the “plums” on the Christchurch Transport Board went to the “ins,” and the “outs” might just as well not be there, said Mr H. E. Denton at a meeting of the board on Monday. It had been said a hundred times that there were no party planks on the board, said Mr Denton. Yet when it came to selecting delegates for conferences, such as the Public Passenger Transport Association conference to be held in Invercargill from March 1 to March 3, “we as a party” were left outside. Mr Denton said he thought more useful results would be obtained at such conferences if both sides of the board were represented. The chairman (Mr J. R. Smith) said the board would be quite happy to see a representative of Mr Denton’s side of the table at Invercargill. The board’s delegates to the conference will be Messrs Smith and Denton and Mr E. J. Bradshaw, if he can find time to attend.
House Burgled.—A house in Norwich street was broken into during the week-end and property worth £7 3s stolen.
