CHINESE DEMAND
Protest Note To Indonesia (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA, Feb. 7. China has demanded that Indonesia “openly apologise” for the student demonstration outside the Chinese Embassy in Djakarta last Thursday. The Indonesian Armed Forces’ newspaper said today that the demand was made in a protest Note handed by the Chinese Ambassador to the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Dr. Subandrio, on Friday. It said that in the Note China had slandered the Indonesian Government and the Indonesian armed forces, accusing the Government of letting “Right-wing forces conduct organised and prepared cruelty and trouble” against the Embassy.
