Man Robbed Of £40
A woman was used as a decoy to lure a man, aged about 62, from a hotel in Sydenham yesterday afternoon. Shortly afterwards, while still in the company of the woman, the man was attacked by another man, thrown to the ground and robbed of £4O and his wallet.
The robbery took place in Hastings street about 5 p.m. The man robbed suffered fairly severe bruising round the face. He received medical attention.
Police dogs were used in an unsuccessful attempt to track the assailant. Detectives were continuing inquiries late last night. The police yesterday arrested six persons, including two men charged with aggravated robbery.
