HONORARY RANGERS
Field Day At Mount Cook A field day for honorary rangers of the Mount Cook National Park will be held at the park headquarters near the Hermitage on Sunday. The nine members of the park board and 12 other honorary rangers who live within or near the nark will spend six hours discussing the park’s development during the last 12 months. The honorary rangers will submit reports and be invited to comment and make suggestions about development. Long-term proposals for development will also be considered.
The field day will include visits to the White Horse Hill area, the Glencoe and Kitchener streams and the Glencoe fan where camping areas and motels have been mooted.
The site for the proposed alpine village at Glentanner. six miles south of the Hermitage, will also be inspected A trip to Ball Hut will comniete the field day, the first in which all honorary rangers have met together. The park board will meet at the park headquarters on Saturday.
