Racing Driver Injured

A driver was injured when his racing car overturned during practice at Wigram yesterday. Ranald George Macdonald, of Blythe Downs, suffered lacerations to his head, concussion and injuries to his left arm. He was admitted to hospital, where his condition last evening was comfortable. Macdonald’s Lotus Cortina went sideways halfway through a curve on the back straight. A rear wheel rim dug into the paving and the car flipped on to its bonnet and roof and was extensively damaged.
