The successful applicant will work on variable speed motor projects which make use of thyristors and triacs as the control components. Some experience with triggering circuits for thyristors would be advantageous. The work will entail the design and testing of solid state control equipment and the application of this equipment to the machines. This original work is under the direction of Mr C. st. J. The successful applicant will be engaged in the work of the materials and metallurgical laboratories of the Department, chiefly in connexion with undergraduate laboratory classes and commercial testing of materials.
