N.Z. ONE OF OVERSEERS

Sanctions On Rhodesia (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. Officials at the New Zealand High Commission in London are expected to represent the Dominion on the committee established by the Commonwealth Conference in Lagos last week to oversee the programme of sanctions against Rhodesia.

New Zealand is also expected to be represented on a further group created at the Lagos meeting to prepare a “crash” programme for training Rhodesian Africans. Details of New Zealand’s involvement in the moves will be known after the return to Wellington this week of the Secretary for External Affairs (Mr A. D. Mclntosh). Mr Mclntosh is visiting London and New York on his return from the conference, which was called by Nigeria.

Sergeant J. T. Mackenzie, of the New Zealand Police Force, who is at present stationed in Ashburton, will move to New Brighton early in February.
