(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, Jan. 17. Alliance Textiles (N.Z.), Ltd’s, wool tops division at Redruth (formerly Saltwater Creek) will be in production tomorrow afternoon. The managing-director of the company (Mr B. A. R. Spence) said today that it was expected the operation of the 20,000-pound-an-hour boiler would be cleared by the Marine Department tomorrow morning, and that the £250,000 wool tops mill would be operating a “full head of steam" after mid-day. The most ambitious industrial venture in South Canterbury, the mill should be in full production about the middle of the year. Seven thousand bales of wool, including Merino, will be used annually.
