BLAZE AT FACTORY
Boiler Room Damaged *(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Jan. 17. Fire did about £3OOO damage to the roof of the boiler room at the lactose factory at Edendale about 8.15 tonight. The Wyndam and Edendale Volunteer Fire Brigades and the firm’s own fire-fighting unit attended the blaze, which was brought under control about 9.10 p.m. Mr H. Hall, second engineer at the factory, thought the fire might have started as a result of welding done at the top of the boilers late this afternoon. Mr Hall said factory staff would, work throughout the night so that production could resume tt the usual time, 7 a.m.
