C.S.R.C.-Dow Return Falls

The net profit of C. S. R. C. Dow Pty., Ltd., dropped from £191,688 to £91,650 for the year ended June 30. In the previous year profit had risen by £40,773. The company produces raw materials for plastics and synthetic rubber. C.S.R. Holding Its paid capital of £3,519,032 is equally held by Dow Chemical International of Switzerland and C.S.R. Chemicals Pty., Ltd. (which in turn is 60 per cent owned by Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Ltd., and 40 per cent by Distillers Company, Ltd., of the United Kingdom. Earning rate eases from 5.5 to 2.6 per cent on capital. The latest profit which reduces the debit carried forward to £134,423, is after provision for replacement of fixed assets £595,726 up £25,749.
