HAAST PASS

Average Of 350 Cars A Day (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Jan. 6. An average of about 350 cars carrying 1400 passengers, travelled through the Haast Pass each day in the first week of a route survey being made by the Tourist Depart ment. The survey is being made to obtain statistical data on the facilities needed in the area. On the first day of the sur vey, December 30, 263 cars passed the check-point between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.. with approximately the same num ber going each way.
