Claiming A Record

The senior Hutt four, skipped by the. spry 77-year-old P. J. McComish, was claiming a world record yesterday.

McComish said that on Wednesday his lead, F. Langbein, his junior by four years, had bowled the wrong bias nine times in one day. Asked if Langbein had been at all embarrassed by this most unusual happening, McComish said: “No. I think he is enjoying the notoriety.”

The Hutt lead, however, was in good company. The very experienced M. Connew (Carlton) bowled two wrong biases in 11) minutes at the Cashmere green yesterday.
