High-Speed Pedal Cars iX.'/. Press Association 1 WELLINGTON, Jan 6 Wellington's first scout exhibition grand derby was held at the Progress Jamboree, Trentham, yesterday afternoon. Highly geared pedal cars capable of speeds up to nearly 35 miles an hour were brought from Wanganui and Patea for the derby. Three of the world’s fastest derby cars were included. One was the Tawhero-owned “Silver Bullet,’’ which holds the world record of 34.9 miles an hour over 110 yards, set last year. The derby course was complete with pits, straights, and a hairpin loop.
