Cassarook Picked Fori Invercargill Cup

“The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. Cassarook. which won the Metropolitan Handicap at Riccarton and finished second to Royal Bid in the Dunedin Cup last week, wdl be expected to add the Invercargill Gold Cup to his score when the Southland Racing Club’s New Year meeting opens at Invercargill today.

The Invercargill Gold Cup will be the first leg of the T.A.B. double. The second leg will be on the Flying Handicap, for which Bellarook, a half brother to Cassarook, and also trained by E. A. Winsloe, looks the one to beat. Winsloe produced the winning T.A.B. double at the Wyndham meeting on Saturday.

The weather was fine yesterday and appeared more settled than for some time. The track, however, will be heavy.
