Royal Sheen Should Win At Hastings
Royal Sheen looks an easy winner in the President's Handicap, first leg of the Hawke's Bay T.A.B. double at Hastings today. Royal Sheen’s stablemate, Bywon, will be one of the hardest for the likely favourite, Plush, to beat in the second leg, the Flying Handicap.
Royal Sheen, unlucky and close behind Bandon in the Manawatu Cup, did not start in the Hastings Gold Cup because his regular rider, D. A. Peake, had engagements at Auckland and no firm engagement could be made for a suitable jockey for Royal Sheen. The weather is fine in Hastings and although showers are predicted the track is firm.
