Two Trawlers Sighted

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. Naval vessels patrolling the new fishing limit spotted two Japanese fishing boats off the New Zealand coast at the week-end—but both were outside the 12-mile mark. The 12-mile limit came into force on Saturday but Japan has given no undertaking to observe it. The training ship Inverell and fisheries protection launches are carrying out a week-long patrol around the eoast. A naval official said today hat sightings of the Japanse fishing boats were made on Saturday and today.
