N.Z. Athletes Ranked (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. New Zealand has only four male athletes among the top three in each event in the 1965 Empire rankings, according to "Worlds Sports” magazine. They are L. R. MlMfts, first in I the shot and third in the disicus; R. A. Williams, second in i the decathlon; R. Johnson, ‘second in the 440 yards hurdles; land P. G. Snell (now retired), jsecond in the mile. With the Empire Games in Jamaica only seven months away, not one New Zealand middle distance or distance runner stand a great chance of winning a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
