FEWER AT GALA

Coopers Creek

Picnic Event

Although the number attending was smaller than last year, the crowd at this year’s family picnic gala at the attractive Manor Park property, Coopers Creek, which included some from as far away as Ashburton, had a very pleasant and enjoyable day in the fine conditions. Gross takings amounted to £llO, about £25 less than last vear. This money will b> used by the organisers, the Coopers Creek Hall Trust, to pay for extensive alterations and renovations which have been carried out on the district hall.

Visitors were able to try their luck at a variety of entertainments, including nail driving, shooting, stepping and sheep guessing, while the chocolate wheel and raffle proved popular.
