Butter Demand Improves

The general demand for butter has improved during the last month and with the limited arrivals of blending butter, prices for this variety have risen.

In its monthly report, the London office of the Bank of New Zealand says that recently sales of New Zealand and Australian butter have been a little better with combined weekly sales in excess of 4300 tons. Prices are unchanged at 322 s per cwt for New Zealand finest and 314 s for Aust ralian choicest. The demand for Danish butter has been steady at unchanged prices of 364 s per cwt.

Demand for New Zealand rindless cheese is steady at an unchanged price of 2715. Supplies of crated cheese are plentiful.
