ROAD MAPS IN DEMAND

Haast Area Is Popular

A heavy demand for touring maps and itineraries is keeping the staff of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) very busy. The heaviest demand is for literature on the round tour of the Southern Lakes and the Haast Pass.

It is expected that traffic will be heavy on the Haast road during the holidays. The association recommends motorists not to attempt to tow caravans over the road.

The most popular area after Haast is the Motueka-Nelson-Collingwood region. The association also says many persons are preparing to go overseas soon: there is a heavy demand for international driving licences.
