DIFFERENCE
The new system of charges will result in a standardisation of handling cargo, with Auckland, Opua and Whangarei consignees now paying costs from hook to store. In the past these costs have been met by the shippers. At southern j ports the shippers and importers of sea freight have paid the charges.
