North Declares Treaty Null

(N Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, Dec. 22. North Korea yesterday declared the Japan-South Korean Normalisation Treaty “null and void” and said the Korean people reserved the right to demand reparations from Japan. A Government statement issued in Pyongyang and reported by the New China News Agency said the Korean people would never recognise the treaty which had been pushed through at United States instigation.

It accused the Seoul Government of “selling out” the country and opening the way for a “full-scale re-invasion of South Korea by Japanese imperialism.”

Government Out.—The Syrian Government of Dr. Youssef Zeayen resigned yesterday after three months in office, it was officially announced in Damascus. —Damascus, December 22.
