Labour Party Policy
Sir, —Many, like “Labour No More,” are vainly looking for something resembling the original party policy. The statement made by Mr Kirk on “channelling investment in farming,” should not surprise the correspondent if he has watched the party peddling their dreary formula of futility, neither for nor against, etc. The Government entrusted with the destiny of this economy has no alternative to “channelling investments in the direction of vested capital interests," with no affinity with the aims and aspirations of Labour supporters. In fact, the policy of “greasing the fat pig” is quite amenable ta-those who at one time were designated as “Tories.” Smoke-screens of an inocuous nature will float about in the political firmament such as the French nuclear test objection. The mountain will bring forth mice, unless a new political course is charted and followed.—Yours, etc., D.H.C. December 21, 1965.
