LICENCE REFUSED
Complaint By Farmer (H.l. rrui aMociatloe) HAMILTON, Dee. 91. An airport Heeneo for ealdned magnesite, the popular remedy for gram staggen in eattle, has been refused by the Customs Department After a complaint by a local fanner that the remedy was no longer available, an inquiry showed that an application for a licence to import it had indeed been refused. Veterinary surgeons agree that calcined magnesite is the only effective remedy against the disease. “This is suicide, ** said the fanner, Mr C. H. Black, of Rukuhia. "Wo are losing more and more cattle with this disease, and calcined magnesite ia our salvation.” "For a Government that is crying out for increased production thio is just too much,” he said.
