Permission to burn between the hours of 6 PM. and » PM. on suitable evenings win be grsnted on applying to your local fire warden or the County Office to see If conditions are suitable. Pertons burning must have a suitable firebreak round the area at least II yards wide. Sueh permission does not relieve the person burning from responsibility for any damage caused

MACFARLANE County Fire Officer Leeston, 16.12.65. 5347 LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD TRAFFIC CONTROL DURING HOLIDAY PERIOD During the Christmas and New Year holidays and such other periods of congestion on the waterfront the drivers of motor vehicles conveying passengers and their luggage to the Steamer-Express vessels must remove their vehicles from the wharf area Immediately after setting down their passengers and luggage. As no parking will be permitted on the wharves drivers of private motor vehicles must locate their friends from the Steamer-Express vessels before driving their vehicles onto the wharf areas. < A. J.
