'Conflicted With Bible'
(N-Z.P-A.-Reuter—Copyright) LEAMINGTON SPA (Warwickshire), Dec. 20. A Church «f England vicar declined to take the oath at the Magistrate's Court here today beeanse he said it conflicted with the teachings of the Bible. The vicar of St Mary’s Church, Leamington, the Rev. Patrick Aahe, was allowed Instead to give the affirmation.
Mr Aahe, a prosecution witness in a eaae «f alleged fraudulent conversion, told the Magistrates: “It says la the New Testament that yea must net ■wear and I take it literally.” Afterward* Mr Aahe ■aid: “The New Testament nukes It quite dear —let year yea he yea, year nay, nay, and swear net at alL’"
