“The Press” In 1865

December 22 CHRISTY MINSTRELS.—This company opened last evening to the Town Hall to a capital house. Those who have been accustomed to general performances of negro melodists will be agreeably surprised on witnessing the entertainment offered by these minstrels. The first part of the programme consisted of a selection of songs, amongst which “Silver Shining Moon" and “Come

where my love lies dreaming” met with an enthusiastic reception. The second part consisted of a solo on the violin by Mr. Nish, and “Crow Family," a very amusing farce. The entertainment concluded with a burlesque on the Opera of the “Bohemian Giri.” We must congratulate the company upon the success that has attended their lint appearance, and will give a fuller account of next performance.
