Fletcher Top Seed In Titles
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. The former Australian Davis Cup squad member, Ken Fletcher, now of Hong Kong, is the top seed in the men’s singles for the New Zealand lawn tennis championships to be held in Auckland from January 10-16.
New Zealand’s Lew Gerrard is the second seed and England’s Roger Taylor is ranked third. Miss Kerry Melville, from Melbourne, is the top-seeded woman. Elizabeth Terry, of Waikato, is second. The Wellington combination of John Souter and Robert Clarke has been named as top seed for the men's doubles.
