An Australian Army corporal who drank 30 one-ounce nips of rum for a bet collapsed and died in a suburban hotel last night He was Reginald Rex Geyer, aged 31, married, with four children, of Holdsworthy Army camp. His friends told ptflice lie bet them he could consume 13 nips of rum in 24 minutes. He drank them in three minutes. An hour and a few been later, he again bet his friends he could repeat his previous attempt This time be drank 17 nips in six minutes, then fell to the ground unconscious. He was dead on arrival at hospital. A postmortem earnination will be held tomorrow.
