BEEF CATTLE EXPERT

Invitation To Visit N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. An overseas beef cattle expert is to be invited to New Zealand by the New Zealand Sheep and Beef Cattle Survey, on behalf of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. It is hoped that he will be in New Zealand in the latter part of 1966. The chairman of the survey, Mr C. F. Jones, said today that the decision to invite a beef cattle expert was in line with meat board policy to encourage greater and more efficient beef production. This would enable cattle breeders and beef producers to discuss with the visitor information on the latest scientific knowledge and practices being used overseas. They would be able to judge to what extent these could be applied with advantage to New Zealand conditions. Mr Jones said that it was intended that the visitor would address producers and breed societies throughout the country and have discussions at research institutions.
