During 1864/65, 40,000 dlagnostc examinations were performed. These were of a general and special nature, including vascular and neurological procedures. These latter types of examination will increase with the projected establishment of Specialist Surgical and Medical units. A new X-ray Department will be opened in 1868 in conjunction with a comprehensive Clinical Services Block. Hamilton, population 60,000, has excellent public and private schools, and la the University centre for a rapidly expanding agricultural and pastoral province with ready access to beaches, skiing grounds, hunting and Ashing areas.
