BROOM AND ROLLING-PIN.—Mrs T. J. Hawkins, of Rangiora, winning the final of the North Canterbury broom and rolling-pin championship at Rangiora. A part of the town’s annual Festivity Week programme, the event carried a stake of £25, with £10 for first place in the final; £5 for second; and £2 10s for third. Some of the stake was allocated to place-getters in the heats.
