Senior Citizens* Party.—At the final social of the Christchurch Senior Citizens' Association for this year in the clubrooms Mrs H. Grade, committee convener, welcomed about 200 members. Mr L. Cove, programme organiser, presented a programme of ballet, music, and vocal items. Each member was given a cake of chocdate after afternoon tea was served. The dance band and helpers were also presented with gifts. The social ended with the singing of “Add tang Syne” and a tribute to Mr and Mrs Grade, who had organised the socials and bus trips for the last eight years. Founders’ Henle.—The Christmas pienie, arranged by the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Founders* Sodety at the South Brighton Community Centre, drew a large attendance of members and friends. The president (Mr L. Prendeville) welcomed the gathering. The outdoor programme consisted of competitions for the adults and races for the children. This was followed by afternoon tea in the hall, with an issue of soft drinks and icecreams. Father Christmas distributed gifts and sweets to the chUdren, while adults received prizes for lucky numbers.
