Three Boys Stage Show For Children’s Fund
The Save the Children Fund will benefit by about £2 12s fid from a variety show presented by three 12-year-old boys in the Fendalton hall last evening. AH three boys were Form II pupils at Cobham Intermediate School this year. Peter Brown baffled the audience with a magician’s act, while Brian Martin entertained them with his singing and guitar-playing (Beatles* numbers included). Stuart Shepherd’s contribution to the programme was a 'demonstration of mind-read-
ing. Pennies were put on his eyelids, taped in place, and a blindfold was then tied. Members of the audience held up an article, which Stuart tried to identify. He was successful in every ease except one—he described a florin as a Is piece. Stuart was taught to mind-read by his mother, who is an expert in the “art." The audience of about 65 including 15 adults— were each charged Is for admission, and the show, which was the boys* own idea, lasted for an hour and a half.
