NEW LIDO DECK FOR BIG LINER.—The Queen Elizabeth (83,613 tons) is to have a new Udo deck with an outdoor heated swimming pool, air-conditioning throughout the passenger and crew accommodation, and a sea-water distillation plant Hie new deck is taking the place of the liner’s after docking bridge, and the extension of the promenade deck will mean an added 3600 sq. ft of deck space. The swimming pool will measure 36ft 6in by 18ft The relit includes the installation of a new teen-agers’ room with juke-box, bowling alley, car-racing machine, and a soft-drinks bar. The liner is shown as she was, end the sketch is of the new lido deck.
