Indonesian Navy Has Missiles
(N.I.P.A. Rrtitfr—Copyright) DJAKARTA, December 16 The Indonesian Navy la now equipped with surface-to-surface guided missiles from the Soviet Union, reliable sources aaid today.
The sources said that the missiles were quietly put on display for the first time at a recent Navy parade. The official news agency,
Antara, today quoted RearAdmiral Jatidjan, Second Deputy Navy Commander, u MyIng that the Navy would soon receive a quantity of armaments including ground-to-sea guided missiles. He did not detail the types of armaments or their countries of origin, but said their acquisition resulted from the recent overseas mission of General Nasutlon, the armed forces chief and Defence Minister. General Nasution visited Moscow during his mission. The Indonesian Navy will hold a large-scale naval manoeuvre in the Java cm for a week before the end of the year, Mid the news agency. The manoeuvre wm said to test the capability and readinets of the naval forces in the framework of Indonesia’s confrontation against Malaysia.
