Closing Of Road

Sir, —Are the public going to accept this lock-out policy by the Lands and Survey Department on the hydro route between Hamner Springs and Top House and Hamner Springs and Seddon? We should, to a man, support the Amuri County Council in its endeavours to have the routes at least investigated as to their potential. I might be wrong, and the general opinion might be that the roads should be blocked, as at present, but I doubt It These roads used to be the main access for settlers between Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury, and they were in much worse condition than they are today.— Yours, etc., WALKABOUT. December 15. 1965.
