ORDERS FOR NEW 1300
The entire 1966 production of the Triumph 1300, worth £2O million, has already been ordered by the company’s distributors and dealers in Britain. “We have never experienced such a demand for a new car in the history of the company We shall produce 30,000 units by the end of 1966 and shall allocate nearly all of these to the home market,” said Sir Donald Stokes, the chairman of Standard-Triumph International. “In the meantime pilot quantities will be sent to all overseas markets to asses demand and public reaction while we are establishing the necessary spares, service -.nd product education facilities which we feel are essential before we sell overseas a car which we think hs tremendous export potential!"
